George Gattas Scholarship Available Here!

This scholarship was established in memory of George Gattas, longtime volunteer in the Mount Prospect community. As Athletic Director for Prospect High School, George Gattas touched the lives of many students. As a Director and Advisory Board member for the legacy United Way of Mount Prospect and Prospect Heights, he worked to build a stronger community by improving the quality of life for residents in need.

Three scholarship awards are available in 2008: one (1) $4,000.00 scholarship (paid at $1,000 per academic year) and two (2) $1,000.00 non-renewable scholarships. These scholarships will be presented to the senior students who best meet the following criteria:

q History of community service
q Active participation in inter-scholastic athletics
q Active participation in co-curricular activities
q Demonstrates continual improvement throughout the high school years
q Resident of communities served by the Northwest Suburban United Way*
