Meet Rebecca Albert, January’s LIVE UNITED Volunteer of the Month.

Rebecca Albert, Live United Volunteer of the Month for January

Rebecca Albert, Live United Volunteer of the Month for January

Northwest Suburban United Way and the Community Crisis Center are thankful for people like Rebecca who work hard to make a difference in our community, especially in challenging economic times.

When a local parish decided not to offer its traditional thanksgiving dinner this year, Rebecca stepped up to fill the void and continue a two decade long tradition.

“We have to do it,” Rebecca stated when she heard about the situation. “How can we enjoy our turkey dinner when so many people won’t have one?”

With only two weeks notice, Rebecca began meeting, organizing, shopping and baking dinner for 1,000 people! Many community members stepped up as donors and volunteers to assist in this process, but it was the determination and leadership of Rebecca Albert that made it all possible. When there is a need, Rebecca always finds the time.

Northwest Suburban United Way is proud to feature Rebecca Albert as the January winner of the LIVE UNITED Volunteer of the Month Award. Volunteers like Rebecca Albert LIVE UNITED by making their community a priority. If you know of a ‘Super Volunteer’ in your community, you can go to www.uwnorthwest.org/volunteer to download our nomination form.
