2008 Gattas Golf Classic - The Northwest Suburban United Way and Northwest Community Hospital paired together this year for the 12th Annual Golf Classic was held at the Mount Prospect Golf Club on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Everyone spent the day golfing, playing games, and enjoying the weather all to raise awareness of the Northwest Suburban United Way and all the work that is done in its communites. Also, three scholarships were awarded to local High School seniors for their efforts through their four years and on to college years. 2008 Day at the Races For seven years, Northwest Suburban United Way has held a “Day at the Races” event at Arlington Park. As always, the event promised to be an exciting day of racing, fancy hats, silent auctions and – most importantly -- making a difference for people in the 18 communities served by Northwest Suburban United Way. 2008 United Way Day of Caring - 8/19/2008 Caremark employees volunteered their time to clean Lattof YMCA vehicles and facilities to get them ready for the 2008/2009 school year.

The “Ready for School” Initiative allowed disadvantaged students a place for ‘one-stop shopping’ to get ready for school. They picked up backpacks filled with school supplies, visited the mobile dental clinic for a checkup and received a physical needed for school. The initiative was available for disadvantaged students living in School District #25, as well as other students who live in Arlington Heights. The "Ready for School” Initiative was a partnership between Arlington Heights School District #25, Faith Lutheran Church, Northwest Community Hospital, Northwest Suburban United Way, Salvation Army – Des Plaines Corps. , Village Bank & Trust, Village of Arlington Heights and Wheeling Township.
