Our Mission
As President of the Northwest Suburban United Way Board of Directors, I am privileged to be associated with the many generous volunteers who give of their time and resources to help make our communities better places in which to live and work. Beginning with a detailed assessment in each community, the NWSUW works together with community leaders to help identify the most critical needs, and fund the programs that best address those needs. Through the generosity of thousands of donors, over $2 million dollars was allocated last year to support 125 essential programs in the Northwest Suburbs and Skokie Valley. Together we can make a difference. The dollars raised in the 18 communities that make up our service area help to address such diverse issues as affordable housing, access to healthcare, crisis support, educational development and financial stability. Most importantly, we monitor the effectiveness of the programs we fund, so we can be sure your donations are making the greatest impact possible. When you support United Way, you become part of a network of people and programs that improves lives right here in our local communities. Together we can make a difference.
If you would like to learn more about United Way, and how you, too, can help make a difference, please contact our office staff by phone or email. Whether it’s donating to United Way through a residential or workplace campaign, or volunteering your time, your contribution is important. Because . . . Together we can make a difference.
